The National Talent Search Examination is a scholarship examination conducted by the NCERT for students in Class VIII. Over a lakh of students nationwide appear for this examination. The assessment is in three stages: First a State level written examination, then a national level written examination and finally an oral interview. Around 200 scholarships are awarded in the state of Karnataka. This scholarship is recognized in India and abroad.
This examination tests the aptitude of students in MAT and SAT or Scholastic Ability Test. MAT or the Mental Aptitude Test consists of numerical puzzles based on number series, coding / decoding and diagrammatic interpretations. The SAT includes questions in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, History, Civics and Geography based on Class VII and Class VIII of the state and CBSE syllabi.
RECENT RESULTS:
2007: 23 students secured the National Scholarship while 32 students secured ranks in the State level examination.
2006: 18 students secured the National Scholarship while 40 students secured ranks in the State level examination.
